Zofia Neugebauer is an inspiring voice in the world of classical flute. Combining a deeply lyrical sound with a fresh and innovative artistic vision, she captivates audiences across the globe—as a soloist, chamber musician, and principal flutist.

After graduating from the prestigious Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic, where she was mentored by Emmanuel Pahud and Mathieu Dufour, Zofia quickly gained recognition as one of the most compelling flutists of her generation.

She has since performed under the baton of some of the world’s most renowned conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Iván Fischer, Paavo Järvi, and Gábor Takács-Nagy. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Silesian Philharmonic, Camerata Zurich, the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, and the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin in the Berlin Philharmonie.

A regular guest at leading international festivals, she is principal flute of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, performing both at the festival and on worldwide tours. This summer she will also debut with a chamber music programme alongside Martin Fröst and Lahav Shani. Other festival engagements include the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Dresden Music Festival. In addition to her solo career, Zofia has held key orchestral positions, serving as principal flute of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under James Gaffigan and associate principal flute of the Basel Symphony Orchestra. She is also a frequent guest as principal flute with ensembles such as the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra and the Cavatina Philharmonic.

With a profound affinity for historically informed performance practice and a particularly lyrical tone, Zofia brings fresh perspectives to well-known repertoire. This artistic vision is reflected in her debut album, featuring Mozart’s flute concertos, which will be released in 2026.

Passionate about education, Zofia gives international masterclasses at renowned institutions and festivals, inspiring the next generation of flutists. In 2024, she launched her own flute course, which attracted students from across Europe, fostering a vibrant and collaborative learning environment.

Now based in Paris, Zofia continues to balance a thriving international career with her work as a cultural ambassador in classical music. Through her engaging social media presence, she shares insights into the life of a musician and presents innovative educational content. Her video recordings on YouTube have gained over 100,000 views, and her online reach continues to grow, bringing classical music to a wider audience.

In addition, she collaborates as an ambassador with Bärenreiter, sharing her artistic vision and expertise with a broad musical community. With her expressive sound, innovative spirit, and captivating stage presence, Zofia Neugebauer continues to shape the future of flute playing, inspiring audiences and musicians alike.

Highlights of the 2025/2026 season include a solo tour with the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin, as well as her highly anticipated debut at the Vienna Musikverein with the Pannon Philharmonic, performing Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp.
