After six sessions across Basel, Bern, Lucerne and Zurich, the Repertoire Orchestra has concluded its second season and is heading into the summer break. The final session, Wagner geht baden, took place outdoors on 26 June in front of Richard Wagner Museum at Lake Lucerne.

Since its launch in 2024, the project has brought together enthusiastic amateur musicians, music students and professionals from across Switzerland for free “symphonic jam sessions”. Each session forms a new orchestra, exploring both well-known and lesser-known works from the symphonic repertoire under the direction of conductor Joseph Sieber and professional section leaders from leading Swiss orchestras.
The next series of sessions, beginning in October, will be announced soon. If you're interested in joining a session, subscribe to the newsletter or check out Simple Symphony.
The Repertoire Orchestra is one of several educational music projects developed by Simple Symphony, an initiative dedicated to creating new ways of experiencing and engaging with symphonic music.
