"He plays with audacity & with the confidence of a virtuoso to whom everything comes easy." Luca Segalla (for Rivista Musica)

On August 17th, 2024, Dmitry Smirnov performed alongside the Il Giardino Armonico, under the direction of Giovanni Antonini. They played Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major RV 208 and Concerto in B-flat Major RV 368 in the newly refurbished Stresa Festival Hall.

At the 63rd edition of the Stresa Festival, Dmitry Smirnov captivated audiences with his virtuosic performance of Vivaldi's violin concertos. Described as a "violinist of power and class" ("violinista di potenza e di classe") by Connessi all'Opera, Dmitry brought an "unusual sonic weight" ("un insolito peso sonoro") to Vivaldi's music, sculpting each note with vigorous energy. His approach was praised for its muscular and robust interpretation, which showcased his technical prowess and deep understanding of the repertoire.
